Why We Ask for Your Date of Birth

Your encryption key
Your DOB is used as part of military-grade encryption (AES-256-GCM with PBKDF2 key derivation). It generates a unique encryption key that protects your personal data. Not even we can read them without your DOB.
Emergency contact verification
When your emergency contacts receive the alert link, they must enter your date of birth to verify their identity. Only people who truly know you can access your emergency data. They get 3 attempts within a 1-hour window.
